Frequently Asked Questions

  • At Inclusive Minds, based in Hobart, I focus on providing therapy that feels safe, inclusive, and client-centred. MHCPs come with limitations that don’t always align with this approach therefore I do not offer MHCP Medicare rebate.

    For example:

    • They require a medical diagnosis, which can feel stigmatising for some people.

    • They limit the number of sessions, which may not meet your long-term goals.

    • They prioritise specific treatment frameworks rather than the personalised, flexible support I offer here in Hobart.

By operating outside of MHCPs, I can focus on creating a therapeutic space where your goals and well-being guide our work.

  • Yes. While MHCPs offer rebates, many of my clients in Hobart find private counselling valuable for the freedom and depth it offers. If cost is a concern, we can explore ways to make therapy accessible.

  • Private therapy gives us the flexibility to focus entirely on your needs at your pace without external restrictions. This is especially important when seeking inclusive and affirming support here in Hobart.

If you’re ready to take the next step or want to learn more about therapy options in Hobart, reach out today. I’m here to help.

I offer in-person therapy at Beach Road Body & Mind at 7 Beach Rd Sandy Bay for clients seeking in-person sessions. This beautiful space is located by the beach, with ample parking and access to public transport.

  • Take your time to read through my website. If you feel that I may be a good fit based on what you are reading, you can send me an email to organise a free 15-minute consultation and an opportunity to ask me about my work.

It may be helpful to think of the first few sessions as trying out the waters together. During the sessions, you'll be able to see how you feel working with me. My approach is not going to work for everyone. Most importantly, you should find someone you think is the right fit for you. We can explore that together.

  • Yes, I offer in-person sessions at Beach Road Body & Mind, located at 7 Beach Rd Sandy Bay, Hobart. This wellness-focused space provides a comfortable setting for those who prefer face-to-face sessions.

  • Online therapy offers the same support as in-person sessions but from the comfort of your home. Once you schedule a session, we'll provide a secure link to Microsoft Teams, where we'll meet at the appointed time. You'll need a private space and a reliable internet connection. This setup allows for flexible scheduling and accessibility, ensuring you receive the support you need no matter where you are.

  • Your first therapy session is all about setting the stage for our work together. It's a time for us to get to know each other, gather important background information, and discuss what you hope to achieve through therapy. We’ll also go over how I can help and what our sessions might look like, and you can ask any questions you have about the process. Most importantly, it's a chance to feel safe and supported and see if the therapy environment feels right for you. This is your time to ensure everything fits your needs and expectations well.

  • I want you to know that everything you share with me is confidential unless there is an imminent danger to yourself or someone else.

There is nothing more important than your privacy.

You can rest assured that you can talk about anything without fear of that information getting out.

If you have specific questions about confidentiality, you can ask during your first session or anytime during our work together.

  • The therapy room at Beach Road Body & Mind at 7 Beach Rd Sandy Bay, Hobart, is located on an upper floor accessible by stairs. Unfortunately, there is no elevator access, which may limit accessibility for some clients. If stairs pose a challenge, I offer comprehensive online therapy sessions to ensure everyone can access support comfortably and safely. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need assistance with alternative arrangements.

  • The length of Therapy depends on what you're looking to achieve and the kind of challenges you're facing:

Short-Term Therapy (6-12 sessions): Perfect if you want to tackle a specific issue quickly. We'll focus on practical strategies to help you manage situations like stress or a particular life change.

Medium-Term Therapy (3-6 months): This is a good fit if you're dealing with more complex issues like anxiety or ongoing relationship troubles. It gives us time to dive deeper and work on lasting improvements.

Long-Term Therapy (6 months or more): If you want to make significant changes in your life or explore deep-rooted issues, long-term therapy might be for you. We’ll take the time to understand and thoroughly transform deep-seated patterns and past traumas.

We can always adjust the length of therapy based on how you feel and your progress. It's about finding what works best for you to support your journey.
